Gemtree Caravan Park is set in 250 acres of genuine Centralian bushland, in the middle of nowhere, with bitumen road right to the front gate! Our licenced bar and evening entertainment provide a taste of outback hospitality - there's nothing we like more than a good yarn.
Safe, peaceful and spacious powered and non powered sites, with clean amenities and campfire pits - we call this our '5 million star' destination. Generously spread apart, our sites are private and separated by native scrub, and can fit anything from a combie van to a fifth wheeler, with no need to reverse. We are proud of Gemtree's natural setting. Its spacious park is testimony to the surrounding countryside. (Scroll down for more images)
Please remember BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL to help us prepare for your arrival. This will ensure we can place you on the site that best suits your needs.
Drinking water in our rainwater tank in the park is available as usual, but due to our long periods without rain, we always use sparingly. Bore water connected to sites is available for cooking and washing for all guests. Our original bore collapsed not so long ago and a new bore has been drilled successfully striking a reasonable water supply to service the park. While this water is tested as being safe to drink - it is wise to boil first before using. Water pressure can vary - please be patient and slip into 'outback time'!
Powered sites are $30 per night for one or two and $12 per extra adult. Non-powered sites are $22 per night for two and $11 per extra adult. Schoolchildren are all $5 per head per night.
We have 24 hour power in the summer months only. When it is cool we run our generators for 16 hours, from 6:30am until 10:30pm at night. When the generator turns off the silence is so thick, you could 'touch' it!
Cabin and onsite van costs
$85 per night for one or two in the cabin and school children $6,
with the van costing $65 per night for one or two and $6 per child.
An extra adult in both the cabin and van will cost $12.
